Dave Lombardo Not Focusing On Slayer Any More

Dave Lombardo Not Focusing On Slayer Any More:
Dave Lombardo of Slayer
New focus: Dave Lombardo
Dave Lombardo hasn’t given up hope of returning to Slayer – but he’s not hanging about to see if it happens.
The drummer was suddenly dropped ahead of the band’s Australian tour last month. Bandmate Kerry King said he made the decision at the last minute following a contractual dispute, but added that Tom Araya had been concerned about the situation for some time.
He was replaced by Jon Dette, who played with the thrash giants for a stint in the 90s.
Now Rock Overdose reports details of an upcoming interview in which Lombardo explains “He would like to be with Slayer, he would like to be in the band, but at the moment he doesn’t know how things will evolve, so all he can do is wait and see.”
As a result he regards side project Philm as his “main band” and he’s also reactivating former outfit Grip Inc, with new frontman Casey Chaos of Amen.
Slayer continue to operate with Gary Holt of Exodus standing in for spider-bite victim Jeff Hanneman, with talk recently moving towards the possibility of the change of guitarist becoming permanent.
